Visit of Dutch Young Farmers to the Hunland Group

We were delighted to host a group of 30 young farmers from the Netherlands and special thanks to the Dutch origin Feed company Geurts Mengvoeders. Introduction of the HUNLAND Group was interactive during our production sites visit.  Our guests were given an insight into the operation of the 1,800-seat, 24.5 million tonnes of milk per year production Dairy farm at Felsővány with the help of Simon Áron, Head of the Milk Production Division.

Our next stop HUNLAND central farm with 3,500 cattle for fattening located in Bugyi, where visitors were guided by József Kardos, Head of Commerce of cattle, and Dr Bálint Balajthy, the HUNLAND group veterinarian, to get an insight into the challenges of cattle trade and production from animal healthcare and feeding point of view and discussed the current market trends.

During the afternoon, we were introduced to our Hungarian lamb trading and production centre at Kiskunlacháza, by Tibor Oláh, Business Unit Manager, and Lia Lázár, Coordination Manager, where a further intensive expansion of production is in progress to enlarge the capacity to 12,000 places.

The majority of the young Dutch farmers are interested in pig production, so they were hosted along the day by our senior trader Evert Rooijakkers, our trade coordination manager Dániel Vitkóczi and our Commercial director Erika Mata, who presented the HUNLAND pig trade and integration activities, discussed market opportunities and expectations with the Dutch farmers and exchanged experiences about the production of pigs.

During the visit, both sides exchanged useful and interesting information. The Hunland Group remains committed to strengthening international relations and exchanging agricultural knowledge.
