Hunland Pig Integration

Hunland Pig Integration – where the power of connection and partner commitment unlock dynamic growth

The swine sector has changed more rapidly in recent years than ever before: market fluctuations, rising costs, epidemic situations, and investment challenges have shaped everyday life. In this environment, there is a growing demand for stable, predictable operations and professional support. Hunland’s swine integration offers this stability—a system where we take over market risks from farmers, allowing them to work in a secure, professionally supported environment.

Hunland’s pig integration launched on January 22, 2022, with the participation of 8 farms and 13,650 pig places. Three years later, our joint work continues across 27 farms with more than 80,000 pig places; in 2025, the number of placed piglets exceeded 150,000. However, behind this growth, there are more than just numbers—there are stories, relationships, trust, commitment, and the professional dedication upon which the entire swine industry is built.

What is Hunland’s swine integration all about?

Many believe that integration is primarily an economic structure. In reality, it is much more: it is partnership, community, and shared responsibility.

At Hunland, the model is simple: we provide the piglets to our partners, and we supply the feed for the 3-4 month fattening period, along with the necessary veterinary support. We also manage the transport and sale of the finished pigs. In return, our partners provide what they do best: daily attention, care, professional expertise, and a well functioning farm.

It is no coincidence that one of the most important statements from our integration manager, Róbert Olajos, has almost become a slogan today:

“We are not just looking for farms – we are looking for professionals and a mindset where, by thinking together with us, people are capable of operating farms sustainably.”

This approach is what makes our integration human-centered. In this system, farmers are not mere executors; they are our reliable partners. There is no hierarchy—only shared goals, shared responsibility, and shared success.

The past 3 years in numbers

Our integration started in January 2022 with 8 farms and 13,650 places. Today, in March 2026, we operate with 27 farms and over 80,000 places. Our partners range from smaller operations with 600 places to our largest partner farm, which has a capacity of more than 9,000 places. While we placed 29,000 piglets for fattening in 2022, this number exceeded 150,000 by November 2025.

Who is joining us?

Our swine integration team now has a nationwide presence: we work together across 27 farms. These include family-run farms passed down through generations, reopened units, farms that previously participated in other integrations, and even entrepreneurs looking to invest who wouldn’t start without a stable professional background.

The entry requirements are simple: a minimum capacity of 600 places and a valid operating license. What truly matters is the attitude. Our integration partners are those who enjoy working in a system where the formula is clear: Hunland bears the market risk, while the boarding fees (contract-rearing fees) provide a stable income for our partners.

We see that pig farming is truly an emotional profession. Many have been working with the same dedication and responsibility for decades—they are the ones with whom we can build a truly strong integration.

A system where everything is interconnected

Hunland’s integration is growing dynamically because it fits perfectly into the company’s overall operations. Our own sow farm provides the piglets for our integration partners. We produce the highest quality feed in our own feed mill for the fattening process, as it is in everyone’s interest for the animals to receive the very best. Our logistics department handles the transport of the livestock. Through the fattening process, the integration and its partners provide the added value that completes this cycle. These systems create synergy: feed quality is predictable, logistics are reliable, veterinary care is uniform and professional, and the market background is stable thanks to Hunland’s international portfolio.

This is the background that ensures a farmer knows: when working with us, they are in safe hands.

Why is it worth joining?

It is worth highlighting a few key factors, as these represent the true value of our integration.

  • Hunland assumes all market risks. Partners always receive their contract-rearing fees, even when market prices are declining. This ensures predictable and stable operations, for which there is a massive demand in today’s economic environment.
  • Full and continuous professional support. Our integration veterinarians, attending veterinarians, high-quality feed, logistics, and constant on-site presence all contribute to our collective progress.
  • The system is flexible and human-centered. Our partners do not have to fight their way through bureaucracy or hierarchy: the integration adapts to the farm’s operations, not the other way around. We offer real solutions to the real problems farmers face.

Swine Integration Professional Day – where everything important comes together

The most recent swine integration meeting took place on October 28, 2025, at the Geréby Mansion in Lajosmizse. Nearly 50 partners attended, and the atmosphere was friendly and sincere—perhaps the best testament to the community that has been built over the past years.

Jos Janssen’s ownership assessment highlighted the importance of development, long-term thinking, and mutual cooperation. Róbert Olajos, Head of Swine Integration, presented the integration’s progress over the last three years, while Erika Mata, Hunland’s Commercial Manager, provided a global market outlook.

By the end of the day, everyone left with the same thought: “This integration is not just a business model. It is a professional community.”

The Vision: 150,000 places and even stronger relationships

The goal is clear: we want to continue growing steadily and predictably, while keeping quality as our priority. The plan: to reach 150,000 places. The vision: to build an integration where farmers and our partners feel secure in the long term, and where the difficult periods of pig farming do not mean they are left to fend for themselves.

Hunland’s swine integration is a system where everyone wins. A place where we look out for one another. A place where we create value—not only in kilograms but in partnerships as well. And that is why we will continue to build—together.
